Philanthropy Events
Anchor Splash
Every year, our sisters host an event called Anchor Splash to raise awareness for our philanthropy, Service for Sight. The event is held at the University of Memphis CRIS Center pool. We have features such as water ballet and skits, exciting swim events, and a DJ.
Delta Gamma always invites campus sports teams, fraternities, and sororities to compete in our Anchor Splash competition. Teams also compete in a Most Beautiful Eyes competition the days leading up to the Anchor Splash event. The main event is a day of swim-meet competition with famous synchronized swimming routines. Races include relays and individual sprints. The overall winner is announced at the end of the day of skits, swimming, and fun.
All of the proceeds from Anchor Splash go to charitable organizations, benefitting Service for Sight, Delta Gamma's national foundation. Service for Sight works to raise awareness about visual impairments and eye safety. It also gives aid to thousands of blind children, adults, and their families. Ths year we raised over $10,000 for Service for Sight.
Most Beautiful Eyes
Held during Anchor Splash week, Delta Gamma's Most Beautiful Eyes competition allows people to vote on which fraternity and sorority have the most beautiful eyes by dropping their spare change in labeled buckets. At the end of the week, the bucket with the most money raised wins.
